Did you know?
- In Europe if you want water with your meal they will ask "with or without gas?". You have a choice of flat or sparkling water. If you want tap water you have to ask for it. They do not serve it in restaurants unless you ask for it.
- There are no drive -thru restaurants. You sit down to eat your meal. Europeans take the time to enjoy their meals.
- When you sit down at a table in a restaurant, the table is your for as long as you like. Do not be offended if the waiter does not bring your check to you. They only bring when you ask for it. They do not want to make you feel rushed.
- Most hotels, especially in Paris, do not have wash cloths. They also encourage you to reuse your towels.
- European rooms are small, very small actually. Even the nicer hotels still have small rooms.
- The cars in Europe are much smaller than in America. Europeans are more Eco-Friendly than we are. They use diesel or drive a Smart Car.
- Hotels have windows that actually open. Since most do not have air conditioning you open your windows when you are in the room. In Italy mosquitos are plentiful so I would recommend to close your windows when you leave the room or you will have surprise guests when you return.
- You pay to use the bathroom
- You CAN pack everything you need for 2+ weeks in one(1) carry-on bag. Trust me, if I can do it, anyone can!
